A rich, smoky, and slightly sweet variation of the classic Old Fashioned, featuring deep caramel and woodsy flavors.

Served in a short glass with a large ice cube, garnished with an orange peel.

Try using smoked maple syrup instead of sugar for added depth, or swap bourbon for mezcal for a bolder smoky flavor.

Pairs well with grilled meats, smoked cheeses, or dark chocolate desserts.

  • 6 cl Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 cl Sugar syrup
  • 2 Angostura bitters
  1. Place a smoking wood chip in a smoke box or glass dome.
  2. Light the chip and capture the smoke in the glass.
  3. Stir whiskey, sugar syrup, and bitters with ice.
  4. Strain into the smoked glass over a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish with an orange peel.
